Idylls is a band from Brisbane, Australia who formed in 2011. Idylls play a discordant, off-kilter, and experimental style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, screamo, metal, grind, and crust into their sound. On this self titled split, Idylls offer up two new songs and a cover of Palisades' A Wonderful Summer. These three songs are chaotic, volatile, and are reminiscent of a mixture of bands such as Orchid and Trap Them. Palisades is a band from Melbourne, Australia, who sadly just called it a day according to the label's info sheet on this release. Palisades play a great style of post-hardcore mixed with screamo that's sure to be a hit for fans of Life At These Speeds, Touché Amoré, Loma Prieta, and Daitro. Overall, Idylls and Palisades have teamed up and collaborated to create on hell of an EP here. Great stuff. Enjoy!
