Amber is a five piece band from Marburg, Germany who formed in November of 2011. Amber cites Cult Of Luna, Isis, Time To Burn, The Ocean, Amen Ra, and Neurosis as influences, which definitely shows up in the band's sound. They play a blackened, metallic, emotive, and epic sounding style of music that calls to mind bands such as Titan, The Alaskan, Northless, and Lentic Waters. What sets Amber apart from their peers is the vocalist, who is female. This makes for a refreshing change of pace in a scene that's often saturated by bands with male vocalists. This five song LP was co-released by Halo Of Flies, Protagonist Music and Narshardaa Records, and is slated for release this May. Overall, these five songs make for an intense, atmospheric, and heavy listen. This is a killer LP and makes for an amazing follow-up to the band's debut five song cassette. Seriously, I can't get enough of this album.
